As a thought experiment, for the next few moments, consider that your life is like a gym.  Think of all the different equipment in this gym as your activities, your thoughts, your relationships, everything you say or do.  

When you are at the gym and you want to work on cardio, you hit the treadmill.  When you want to work on your upper-body strength, you lift weights.  Each area of the gym trains a different muscle group.  

If we look at our life through this model, we can start to see that everything that we say, do, and think is training a different "muscle group."  If you spend 10 minutes thinking about all the things that could go wrong, you are training your ability to forecast negative outcomes.  If you spend five minutes finding fault with your partner, you are strengthening your ability to be judgmental.  You get the point…

So here’s our question to you: What are you training?  Is it what you want to be training?  Are there any muscle groups getting too much training time? And others not enough?  Look closely and see what new insights might occur.  

What we train becomes ingrained and patterned.  It behooves all of us to pay attention to what we are training.
